What Our Campers Say…

Have camped for many years and never sent a comment, but feel compelled to do so now. Originally booked for 7 nights and changed to 5 on arrival (change in travel plans). That was a huge mistake! Should have stayed for the 7 plus! I echo previous comments on clean sites, great location and the absolute best lobster I have ever eaten, but the true beauty is the host family. By the end of 5 nights we were not clients or guests, we were treated like family. Bernie and Karrie-Ann went out of their way to accommodate even the oddest requests without hesitation and in doing so helped to build memories of a lifetime. I cannot recommend this facility and family highly enough. Do yourself a favour and book some time at Woodhaven RV Park.

We spent a week in this beautiful , clean very well maintained campground. It is in a perfect location, close drive to downtown Halifax, handy to Kearney Lake where we put our paddle boards in every day. We love to camp and feel like we are the woods and I was very surprised we felt this way
being so close to the city. The sites are a great size , fire pits and picnic tables , lots of room for vehicles. The bonus to our vacation was having the owner purchase fresh lobster, cook it and deliver it to our campsite for a very reasonable price. The lobster was cooked to perfection, not too salty, just perfect and arrived with shells already cracked opened and ready to eat. We eat New Brunswick lobster, PEI and Maine, Bar Harbor was always our favorite, up until now, this was the best we have ever had! Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into maintaining your beautiful campground, we will definitely be repeat customers.

We spent 5 amazing days at Woodhaven Campground! It was a perfect fit for us, centrally located, easy access and the sites themselves were great for large rigs. On our last night we phoned the hosts and asked if we could use the rec center for a family dinner, the weather was not conducive to sitting
outside. The hosts went out of their way to deliver the key to us, allowing us to host dinner and enjoy family time while staying dry. We would highly recommend this campground and hope to be back. Special thanks to our awesome hosts.

This is an excellent park for exploring both Halifax and the central portion of Nova Scotia. We had site M9 which was a very private and easy to get into back-in even though it was also next to the playground. It also had an unobstructed shot at the TV satellites. The back to back sites referenced by a previous reviewer wouldn’t be a problem with a motorhome; they spoil the view out the rear window of a 5er, but only MH’ were in them when we were there. The roads and sites are gravel but the management does spray them to reduce the dust. We had no trouble leveling with our jacks. The wifi signal is strong but the speed of the connection is erratic when the park is crowded. The cellular signal on the Rogers network is good. There is also Verizon voice service. The management and staff are pleasant. It appears to be a great family park if you visit with kids. We’ll definitely return if we are in the area again. From this park we’ve gone as far north as Grand Pre and as far west as Lunenburg in just about an hour. There’s good shopping 10-15 minutes away and a Costco at ~maybe 20 minutes. We camped here in a Motorhome.
